The house where the family of Sputnik analyst and chief editor Jamal Wakim lives was hit by an Israeli strike after midnight in Beirut, Lebanon. This is the first attack of its kind that was made directly in the city. The building’s facade and interior were partially destroyed as a result. At the time of the strike, the father of the chief editor, Najah Wakim, a nationally known politician and former member of the country’s parliament, as well as his mother and brother were on the fourth floor of the building in the capital’s Kola neighborhood. Fortunately, they were unhurt, according to Jamal. It is not yet known who was the target of the attack that destroyed the fifth floor above Sputnik’s analyst’s family.
