Space disasters. This peaceful night sky is fraught with danger. It may seem dotted with beautiful sparkles, calm, constant, but if you look closer, you can see something else, not so peaceful. Stars engulf planets and each other. Protoplanets collide. Explosions permeate accumulations of gases, provoking the birth of new stars. Black holes devour everything in their path. Closer to home, we are in more immediate danger from the remnants of our solar system's formation process. They rotate in a heliocentric orbit until they collide with something, such as the Earth. Therefore, such collisions are best avoided. Now there are technologies that will help us do this. #disasters #space
