About the pieces: “While composing 'Three Dodecaphonic Pieces' I challenged myself to create something melodic and simultaneously maintained in the dodecaphonic languauge. As the dodecaphony is quite abstract, I decided to refer to something familiar which is Polish folk music. In the first and third movements I wanted to pay tribute to the folk and Mazurka is a hommage to the post-Chopin tradition of this genre. The most characteristic feature of the Polish folk dances, rhythm, is also present in use of percussion effects.“ Words of the composer. ------------------------------------------------------------- Diffussion purposes only.
