The facelifted Volkswagen Polo GTI has been revealed, with the compact hot hatchback arriving with a revised 204bhp 2.0 TSI engine and more driver assistance systems. The four-cylinder turbocharged unit also produces 320Nm of torque, and as the Polo GTI comes with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic only, with launch control the 0-62mph sprint is dispatched in 6.5 seconds. The GTI will hit a top speed of 149mph. The hot supermini is also fitted with VW’s XDS electronic differential lock as standard to help deliver a level of agility to match its straight-line performance. Unlike rivals such as the Ford Fiesta ST, which use mechanical locking differentials, the VW system uses torque vectoring by braking.
