'Killing Time' combines Mesplé iconic use of ferrofluid and signature metalwork for an entirely new viewer experience. As a viewer approaches the sculpture, sensors detect their distance from the sculpture and correlate to the strength of the handmade electromagnet; increasing the upward draw of the ferrofluid. In effect, the sculpture sucks away the obscurities of time the closer one gets to it. Glass work by Adam Mostow. Filmed by Derek Doublin, Dimensions: 78“ x 33“ x 33“ Materials: bronze, aluminum, steel, glass, electromagnet, ferrofluid, micro-controller, sensors
