Zeus is probably the best known of all of the Greek gods as the king of the Olympian pantheon, and as the god responsible for the sky, thunder, and weather who is referred to as the cloud-gatherer. In Rome, he was known as Jupiter or Jove. Zeus was the youngest son of the titans Coronus and Rhea, and from the moment of his birth, his life was eventful. Zeus, Poseidon, and Hades drew lots as a way to divide the rule of the cosmos, Hades drew the underworld, Poseidon the seas, and Zeus became the god of the heavens. He married his sister Hera, the queen of the heavens and goddess of marriage and the family, and together they had numerous children including Ares the god of war, Hebe the goddess of youth and Eileithyia the goddess of childbirth and labour pains, and in some myths, Hephaestus the god of smiths, metalworking, and fire is also the son of Zeus and Hera. — SUPPORT US VIA OUR PATREON— — BUY OUR MERCH —
