Building and restoring horse drawn vehicles of the American west sometimes involves carriages originally designed in England. The Brougham is an English gentleman's carriage designed by Lord Henry Peter Brougham around 1838. Although an English design, many Broughams were built in America and a number of them found their way to the American west, usually acquired by the more wealthy and affluent.
