From one of the oldest and greatest royal palaces, the Alcazar in Sevilla, Spain, 1993 Antonio Vivaldi - Concerto for Lute in D Major, RV 93 John Williams – classical guitar Orquesta Sinfonica de Sevilla Jose Buenagu – conductor 0:00 Intro 0:07 Allegro giusto 03:48 Largo 07:54 Allegro Watch the full concert here: Subscribe to wocomoMUSIC: Follow us on Facebook: The famous concerto is played in one of the architectural gems of the Alcazar - the beautiful Salon de Embajadores (the Ambassadors' Hall). The square court, dating from the eleventh century, with its remarkable decorated arches and richly adorned dome, was originally the throne room of Banu Abbad. The present space, its walls covered by patterns of glazed tiles below impressive plaster ornamentation, comes from a renovation in the fourteenth century. Its cupola was carved in the time of King Don Juan II of Castile and is dated 1427. Vivaldi's Violin Concerto has experienced nearly as many alterations (including transcription for harpsichord by Bach) as the Ambassadors' Hall.
