⬇︎READ MORE BELOW⬇︎Chaichana is a powerful bull elephant. When he arrived at Elephants World in Thailand all the mahouts were extremely cautious of him as his temperament was unknown and so considered dangerous, as almost all bull elephants are. Chaichana seems happy in his new home and made friends with several female elephants. I played piano for Chaichana several times last week, at the end of the day when the tropical summer heat was gently easing. I put the piano under the shade of Chaichana’s favorite tree, he is not restrained in any way and free to wander away if he chooses too. Chaichana turns out to be a considerate elephant. For example, when he scoops dried mud from the ground with his trunk to give himself a dust bath he always steps backward before he throws it over himself, so as not to shower me with mud too, which you can see in this video of the same piano piece which Chaichana seems to like:
