Joining of metal to thermoplastic materials can be done quick and easy by induction heating. A locally laser-treated metal structure will be pressed together with a thermoplastic part, either fibre-reinforced or not. By a quick induction heating process of a few seconds the thermoplast melts at the connection surface to the metal and will solidify after cooling. A combination of form-fit and adhesion results to high joining strengths.
