. The Subscapularis is a unique muscle in that it’s the only one of the rotator cuff muscles that internally rotated the humerus. It’s also a key player in preventing impingement by drawing the humerus downward when arm is overhead. . When this muscle is tight and weak, there is a host of shoulder issues that can result, most of which result in anterior shoulder pain. Performing some self myofascial release on this muscle and working through some some stabilization drills after will help restore proper function to this vital muscle. .
