The wardrobe department bought one from a thrift store. While wearing the coat during the movie, the actor playing the Wizard found a note in one of the pockets. It was a label that said the coat belonged to L. Frank Baum. L. Frank Baum wrote the Wizard of Oz. Henry Zeigland decided to leave his wife. She was so upset that she took her own life. The wife's brother, out for revenge, shot Henry Zeigland in the head then took his own life. *BUT* the bullet had only grazed Zeigland and got stuck in a nearby tree. 20 years later, Zeigland was tried to remove the tree from his yard with dynamite. The explosion did destroy the tree, but also blasted the 20-year-old bullet out of the tree, across the yard, and into Zeigland's head. Killing him instantly.
