Orca, or killer whales, pass by Kaikoura, reasonably regularly, especially during the summer months. This pod came through in May and sea conditions were choppy due to a rising north east breeze, which made it quite difficult for filming from a small boat. Here is some of the footage filmed with the GoPro.
