The Tor-M2DT, a modern and rare surface-to-air missile system made for arctic use, is believed to have been lost by Russia. According to Ukraine’s Ministry of Defence, the Ukrainian forces destroyed the system in the Kherson region. The 406th Artillery Brigade of Ukraine’s Armed Forces was reportedly responsible for the destruction. The Tor-M2DT is a short-range anti-aircraft missile system designed specifically for arctic climates and was developed by Russia’s JSC Izhevsk Electromechanical Plant Kupol.
