Hundreds of teenagers ran riot over a French town on Tuesday, after what started out as a protest, spiraled into chaos, arson and violence. The teens, students at Gustave Eiffel High School, claimed they were initially protesting their school’s poor infrastructure, but it’s thought that non-students joined in, escalating the situation and causing a stand-off with police. Footage from the scene shows hundreds of young people hurling projectiles, kicking police cars and even overturning a vehicle, while random fires burn around them. Police eventually used tear gas on the teens, taking several hours to restore order.
