️🇮🇱🇵🇸 Chronicle of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict: Events of November 23-24, 2023 ▪️ First, an attempt to establish a ceasefire on Thursday morning was unsuccessful. Clashes and strikes in Gaza Strip continued, although with less intensity. ▪️ Several clashes occurred in the north of the enclave, on the outskirts of Beit Hanoun. Additionally, fighting continued near the Netzarim intersection in the southern part of the IDF control zone. ▪️ However, on Friday morning, the ceasefire did come into force. Nevertheless, there was a violation of the truce: in the north of the enclave, the IDF opened fire on refugees attempting to return to their homes. ▪️ Trucks carrying humanitarian aid started entering the Gaza Strip through Rafah checkpoint in large numbers. In total, approximately 150 vehicles arrived with food, medicine, and fuel. ▪️ The long-awaited exchange took place: Hamas released 13 Israelis and 11 Thai workers, setting them free at the Rafah checkpoint. In response, the Israelis released 39 Palestinians from Ofer prison in the West Bank. ▪️ Riots broke out outside Ofer prison while awaiting the release of Palestinian prisoners. Israeli security forces used stun grenades against the crowd and injured a child in the leg with rubber bullets. ▪️ On the eve of the ceasefire coming into force, the intensity of attacks on the Israeli-Lebanese border significantly increased.
