Two Out of Three Falls Japan Pro Wrestling Alliance The 5th Annual World League 1963 Kuramae Kokugikan I’ve lived in Scotland all my life, so whenever I tell someone older than me that I like wrestling, there’s roughly a 75% chance that they’ll start talking about World of Sport, Big Daddy and Giant Haystacks. So it is quite something to come upon this match featuring the guy who inspired Martin Ruane’s character. This match features Rikidozan at perhaps his best; His charisma shining through as he tries to figure out on the fly how to grapple this mass of humanity, his patience being tried, the catharsis of him eventually getting mad and doing chops, it’s all here. Plus some great big man stuff from Haystacks Calhoun. Overall a delight to watch.
