Everywhere in the Beginning of Nowhere is a multi-chaptered audio representation of dementia and its devastating effects. This project is heavily inspired by Everywhere at the End of Time by The Caretaker. Please treat the subject of memory loss with respect and compassion as it is a subject that many who listen to this project may find difficult. There are 7 stages, each one representing a stage in the 7 stage progression of dementia. This is an artistic interpretation of the disease. It is not completely accurate to what happens to a person with dementia. Some elements have been added to increase emotional and dramatic effects on viewers. EVERYWHERE IN THE BEGINNING OF NOWHERE: STAGES 1-7 0:00:00 - Preface STAGE 1: Stage one is the stage in which there are no visible symptoms. The occasional falters of old age prevent a perfect memory but life seems to be going as you thought. Enjoy it while it lasts. 0:00:23 A1 - Autumn Dusk 0:04:01 A2 - Joys in the Past 0:07:35 A3 - In Everything Content 0:11:57 A4 - The Colorful All 0:14:43 A5 - Steadfast Clarity 0:18:11 A6 - Time of the Mind 0:21:27 A7 - Unawareness STAGE 2: Keys end up in the fridge, your favorite shoes are on your bed. Why would you put them there? These small acts of weirdness could be pushed aside as just old age or bad sleep but in stage 2, the most seemingly insignificant mistakes are settling the groundwork for unimaginable horror. 0:24:40 B1 - I’ll be Remembering you 0:28:27 B2 - As The Days 0:31:55 B3 - Bright Recollections 0:35:12 B4 - The Old Church Door 0:38:40 B5 - Memories of Peace 0:42:43 B6 - You Were Always a Dreamer 0:46:46 B7 - Time Moves Along 0:50:43 B8 - Reminiscence in Vain 0:53:46 C1 - Slight Disorientation 0:57:35 C2 - Not Much Time 1:00:38 C3 - Is it Really So? 1:04:26 C4 - It Was all for You 1:07:28 C5 - Moonlight on A Thousand Lovers 1:11:29 C6 - Gone are the Days of Youth 1:14:09 C7 - It Was Said with a Kiss STAGE 3: Stage 3 is the stage at which the inevitability of dementia sinks in. Small acts of forgetfulness start to become bigger. Suddenly you forget that one friend’s name or what the name of that one nephew is. Denial is pervasive throughout this stage but acceptance comes in its own time. 1:17:44 D1 - The Beginning of an End 1:20:31 D2 - Hour-less Slumber 1:24:23 D3 - I Still Remember You 1:27:55 D4 - Our Story Matters 1:32:44 D5 - Slowly Fading 1:35:23 D6 - A Vain Denial 1:38:58 E1 - Quietly Losing A Fight 1:42:24 E2 - Carry on Tired 1:45:27 E3 - False Peace 1:49:16 E4 - Quiet Concentrated Introspection 1:54:42 E5 - In Hopeless Desperation 1:58:05 E6 - The Moon’s Dim Lit Promise Stage 4: It’s not just small details anymore, even words aren’t forming in the right places, and those recipes you’ve known for years suddenly don’t come to you. Sleeping isn’t doing much as you begin to suffer from insomnia. Memories begin to break apart and reorganize themselves in ways you know weren’t arranged before. 2:03:01 F1 - The Mist Rolls In 2:06:38 F2 - Can I Remember You 2:09:39 F3 - Cavernous Thoughts 2:12:47 F4 - Shapes in the Mist 2:16:09 F5 - Empty Ballroom Light 2:18:18 F6 - Closed To Cover the Fallen 2:20:58 F7 - Thin Denial Shatters 2:24:00 F8 - Goodbye what Once Was 2:27:42 G1 - Unraveling Obscure Common Sense 2:31:46 G2 - Mourning Serenade 2:35:51 G3 - Everywhere Past Time Dusk 2:40:12 G4 - Closing Remember Lost You 2:43:24 G5 - Night Infinity Broken 2:44:36 G6 - Lamentations Will Gloom 2:48:04 G7 - Atrophy in Shameless Fog 2:51:20 G8 - I Can’t Remember STAGE 5: Stage 5 marks the transition into the latter half of the stages of dementia. It has been months since the last time your family visited. Stage 5 highlights the emotions and strange occurrences these patients display. The moderately severe cognitive decline present in this stage has limited the ability to perform tasks normally without some derailment of confusion getting in the way. 2:55:11 H1 - Post Awareness Confusions 3:18:11 II - Sundown Syndrome 3:41:35 J1 - Temporary Bliss State 4:02:12 K1 - Post Awareness Confusions STAGE 6: Stage 6 marks the point of no return. Extreme entanglements in sounds and moods make way for overwhelming disorientation. Few moments of clarity are present. Wherever you are is just where you are as you don’t really seem to care. The transition from middle to late-stage dementia brings you ever closer to the emptiness of the end. 4:25:21 L1 - Extreme Plaque Buildup 4:47:56 M1 - Extreme Plaque Buildup 5:09:57 N1 - Cognitive Reversal 5:32:14 O1 - Accelerated Regression Into a Vegetative State STAGE 7: Est Finis Omnium 5:54:57 P1 - A Life Forgotten 6:17:45 Q1 - Marrow Deep In Defeat 6:39:44 R1 - The End of the Line 7:01:41 S1 - Vita Nova in Morte est
