This crochet edging is one of the easiest that I have come across. It is from a very old vintage pattern. I have modified the pattern slightly in that I worked a row of half double crochets (US) terminology, into the foundation chain. For a tutorial in a thicker yarn please see For a tutorial working corners in this lace please see: The original pattern suggests working straight into the foundation chain. You could do a row of single crochets instead of the half double crochets if you wish. the depth of the edging is 1“ or approximately. I used a hook and size 10 crochet thread. Instead of hand sewing the lace to your project you could machine sew it, the effect may not be exactly the same but I am sure it would still look great.
