Peacock Rag/Wicked Path of Sin - Bill Monroe, Flatt, Scruggs, Wise, Watts, 19 Opening a Time Capsule from 1947 This is at the UNC Folklife Center in Chapel Hill, NC at the very moment when we put this old acetate disc on the turntable and the music on it was once again heard for the first time in 72 years. This acetate disc was one of over 40 that belonged to my dear friend Clyde Franklin who passed away in 2019. Shortly before his passing, my dear friend Clyde Franklin asked me to go through his large collection of reel to reel tapes, cassette tapes, 78s, LP's cassette tapes and acetate discs. One treasure i found was over 40 acetate discs recorded over the air by a dj in Biloxi, Mississippi of a Saturday night live broadcast from WSM in Nashville, Tn in 1947. The announcer’s voice, the static, the music and the audience reaction was all there. The three of us present, Steve Weiss, Jerry Stuart and yours truly were brought back in time to the year 1947 and the city of Nashville. This is
