'A Portrait of Giselle' is a 1982 documentary film, produced by Joseph Wishy and directed by Muriel Balash. It was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature. With Diaghilev Ballets Russes premier dancer Anton Dolin as talking head, segments of performances of a number of legendary Giselles are presented and examined: including Olga Spessivtzeva, Alicia Markova, Alicia Alonso, Galina Ulanova, Yvette Chavire, Natalia Makarova. There are also two unique extended interviews - firstly Olga Spessivtzeva and then with Tamara Karsavina.
