The 2014 Festival featured the world premiere of “The Classical Style: An Opera (of Sorts),“ a commissioned opera with libretto by Jeremy Denk and music by Pulitzer Prize–winning composer Steven Stucky. “The Classical Style“ is based on the eponymous award-winning book by American pianist and scholar Charles Rosen. The comic opera is conducted by Robert Spano and directed by Mary Birnbaum, featuring The Knights, the Brooklyn-based orchestral collective. The cast: Aubrey Allicock, bass baritone; Dominic Arms
