In this tutorial for Revit I demonstrate how to create family in Revit with two dimensional parametric array. This means that the array count and distances can be changed in two directions. This process can be used to create any two dimensional polar array family that you wish, such as family with chairs, sprinklers, tress, etc. At first sight, it might seem quite easy to create such a family, but it is not that easy. The user has to create family with two nested families to achieve this outcome. The finished result enables users to easily change count and distances of instances in array in both X and Y directions. The finished two direction parametric family can be downloaded for free from this Gumroad link: Chapters: 0:00 Intoroduction 1:05 Basic Family Scheme 2:32 Nested Family Creation 3:22 X-axis Family Creation 7:24 Basic Family Creation 15:00 Adding Axes to Dimension the Family 20:15 Replace the Nested Family Revit is a Building Information Modelling (BIM) software.
