How to paint hollyhocks - this Fast Motion version of the online art course videos, the oil painting 'At Home on the Range' by Bill Inman was produced in his studio to sell in one of his galleries. Bill took 3 days of filming and edited it down to 5 hours for a soon to come instructional video with voice over. The palette shots for the fast motion have been removed so you can view the progress of the painting as it progresses from abstract color shapes to the refining touches of flowers, grasses and leaves that bring life to the painting. Hollyhocks are one of my favorite subjects to paint because they have such fun movement and composition possibilities - I can move the flowers and stems any direction I want to make the painting engaging and to move the viewers eye around the painting.
