Belgian Shepherds include the Groenendael, Laekenois, Malinois, and Tervueren. According to the FCI classification, they are all considered dogs of the same breed. The breed was bred in 1891 in Belgium, in the city of Mechelen (Maline in French), the final breed standard was approved in 1907.
