Coco developed the song by altering the melody line in places and creating ad libitum parts. Released on Greenlight Recordings USA in 1996, “I Need a Miracle” quickly became a favourite track in the underground scene. A second release, with six mixes came about in 1997 on Positiva (EMI). By 1999, it had become the subject of a vastly popular bootleg, the whitelabel Fragma v CoCo “Toca's Miracle”, a concept credited to DJ Vimto from Nottingham, UK. Original release before getting signed to Positiva, put together by DJ Vimto. Contains the vocals of Coco's “I Need A Miracle“ over Fragma's “Toca Me“. A mash-up of “I Need A Miracle“ by Coco Star and “Toca Me“ by Fragma, both of which had previously been released by Positiva (with “Toca Me“ licenced from Gang Go Records). Following the success of an illegal bootleg, the official release on Positiva/EMI went straight to #1 in the UK. Coco claimed 14 years after the first release, her vocals were used illegal by the producers but in 2022 a german court decided after a long lawsuit, that the agreements between Positiva.
