️🇦🇿This post is in support of our Eurasian friends unjustly arrested in Azerbaijan I stood in front of the Azerbaijani Embassy to protest the jailing and torture of Nazaket Mammedova, Ibrahim Hasanov, and Ibrahim Humbatov. Nazaket has been tortured so severely, she lost her sight in one eye. These journos, true Azerbaijani patriots, chose to stand with Russia. I have personally witnessed their integrity. I was in Donbass with Nazaket, a remarkable woman, the only Azerbaijani journalist brave enough to report from the Donbass side, unlike her counterparts who lean towards Ukraine. It disgusts me to see such blatant hypocrisy in leadership. Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev pretends to back Russia in public, yet his actions tell a differently, jailing these pro-Russian journalists, clearly showing he’s just a puppet in the hands of the Biden Admin. I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt, it’s hard to believe he’s unaware of these despicable arrests. We must stand next to our friends and allies, there are so few of us in the world.
