Matt Mattox 1961 Jazz Dance Choreography - Introduction

In 1961 jazz dancer Matt Mattox presented a full concert of his jazz dance and ballet choreography at the YM-YWCA in New York City. This video clip shows a section of his piece “Introduction.“ All of the dancers were students and teachers at his school of dance in NYC. Included in the dancers are Nat Horne, Herman Howell, Jean Hilzinger, Thelma Hill, and Beth Howland (later an original cast member of the Broadway show “Company“ and the goofy waitress on the 1970s TV show “Alice“).
