She's been the only one in my family who supported my creative and musical ambitions and even found my first singing teacher - a choir director from the local Jewish community in Munich. That's where my folk(lore) journey began. “Sheyne Ziere“ is Yiddish and according to my grandma it means “a creation that is beautiful from the inside and outside“. That's also what she called me. My Yiddish teacher told me recently, it can also mean „beautiful cosmos“. For the music video, I decided to contact filmmakers who could not only relate to the theme of the special bond between grandparents and grandchildren, but also someone with a similar cultural background. After a lot of research, I found Robert Schulzmann, a master's student at Babelsberg Film University, who is a contingent refugee himself (originally from Riga) and understands all the Jewish-Ukrainian/post-soviet influences that affect my music and relationship with my grandmother on a completely different level. We collected dozens of objects that remind me of my childhood/home/family/cultures and combined this layer with 78-year-old actress Eva-Maria Kurz, who dances in the video while wearing a necklace she inherited from her grandfather.
