This film is made available only because of a special request. This is the finest print of Marichka that will ever be available. Marichka drags somewhat during the first 10 minutes and then picks up. Made in Oshawa Ontario with opening sequences filmed near Hunter, New York (Catskill Mountains). Marichka is set during World War I in a Carpathian Hucul village in Ukraine. The costumes and sets were rather elaborate and were reused for the film Whispering Highlands. There are no English subtitles available for Marichka.
