After a long absence since April, I am back in full swing to deliver you a short but intense timelapse film. Autumn in Lapland: a symphony of colors tells the tale of a challenging autumn season strewn with harsh weather conditions and very little calm times where it was possible to shoot outside. After a hot, mostly clear and dry summer, the weather decided to 'catch up' and pour rain every single day, making it hard for me to get what I wanted. But in between showers and misty spells, the sky opened up and the magnificent colors of the Arctic Autumn appeared. In the seven years I've shot this season, it was by far the most challenging and I often had to drive very long distances to get clear skies. For example, I had to drive all the way to Galliväre, Sweden (14 hour road trip) to get this magnificent blue auroral display. In this story, I wanted to show that despite the seemingly horrendous conditions, nature always finds ways to impress us. In this film, you will see a lot of sequences from Malangen, my new home. It is a charming peninsula south of Tromsø with lots of untouched nature. It is a perfect playground for me because it has a lot of varied landscapes like waterfalls, hills, mountains, tundra-like terrain, boreal forest, beaches and lakes. I hope you like the video and appreciate the amount of work, knowledge, dedication and skills that went into it.
