Dreadout 1 was a bit disappointing for me to be honest, but in many ways Dreadout 2 is a far better game and I love it for that! It is not perfect; the combat can be quite clunky, and some boss fights last longer than they should, but in every other aspect this game is better than its predecessor. One thing that this game does which I think is brilliant is introduce the element of open city exploration where you are traveling through the streets of an Indonesian city. You can do various sidquests, talk to its inhabitants and soak up the unique and colorful atmosphere of Indonesia. It's great, because it gives the player a break from the creepy and spooky horrors. So many horror games take place in abandoned or ruined areas, and you start to feel really down after playing for a long time. But with these open free roam sections, Dreadout 2 gives the player a break while also providing with an awesome setting to explore. I think more horror games should use these breaks or combine pleasant moments
