Trip to Gretna Green is a Scottish Country Dance by an unknown deviser. It was collected by Betty Lee Barnes . The dance is a proper 3 couple dance in a 4 couple set. Gretna Green was the first village north of the Scottish border on the old coach road from London to Edinburgh. In Scotland minors did not need parental consent to marry, so Gretna Green was a convenient spot where eloping young couples could get married (As Lydia and Wickham are thought to have done in Pride and Prejudice) The animation plays normally at 120 counts per minute, but the first time through the set the dance is slowed down so people can learn the moves more readily. Men are drawn as rectangles, women as ellipses. Each couple is drawn in its own color, however the border of each dancer indicates what role they currently play so the border color may change each time through the minor set. ПЕРВЫЙ ТАНЕЦ.
