The First Hyouka OP - also known as Reason for Kindness or Yasashisa No Riyuu (優しさの理由) - is an almost perfect encapsulation of Houtarou's journey through the first half of the show. So let's chat about symbolism of things that I've already referenced a dozen times but appear here for the first time technically and therefore predate all of the analysis I've already done.
