Public Domain video - This rare Jim Morrison video is the FIRST ever video recording of him! Now in the public domain, it was found, accidentally, by Jaime Madden (thanks awesome dude!), an archivist at Florida State University. When he first saw the film, he noticed something “familiar“ in the way the person was standing, and said, “Oh my god! This is Jim Morrison!“ :) The clip was discovered among films that WFSU (a PBS station operated by Florida State University) had donated to the state of Florida in 1989. After it was found, it was digitally converted and posted to the state's film arching website. This is, by far, the most awesome video footage of Jim BEFORE he became the “Lizard King“ and before he delighted the world with amazing songs like: Light My Fire, The End, Break on Through (To the Other Side), L.A. Woman, When the Music's Over, etc. Before attending UCLA Film School, Jim (. James Douglas Morrison) briefly attended FSU (Florida State University). This video was shot in 1964, while he was enrolled there. He later dropped out to attend the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) to study film. About a year later, after he graduated from UCLA, he led a Bohemian lifestyle in nearby Venice Beach, California. That's when he met Ray Manzarek, Robby Krieger and John Densmore and formed The Doors rock band. And the rest, as they say, is history! :)
