In full, true stereo quality - Laura Branigan’s “Don’t Close Your Eyes Tonight“ 8th Song on the Pre-“Branigan“ album. 1980-1981 This album was cut before Laura started working with Italian vocal coach, Carlo Lifavi Menotti. Sensual, sexy, warm and beautiful. Though Laura’s music teacher scolded her in high school for cheerleading, saying she was going to ruin her voice. Once she made the big time, she realized that talent was only so much. She needed to learn to use/treat/pace her voice, or it would fail her. The songs on this album are beautiful, very much what was on the radio at the time it was recorded. But, nothing to make her noteworthy enough to break past the scores of established vocalists who’d emerged from disco and didn’t join the new wave trend. Recorded for Laura’s debut solo album. ***I do not own any part of this video. Its sole purpose is to memorialize Laura Branigan and her work.
