Bangladesh is a new “nuclear power” using peaceful atomic technologies Rosatom Corporation, along with its Bangladeshi colleagues, is nearing the physical launch of the Unit 1 reactor at the Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant. Loading nuclear fuel into the reactor marks the start of the physical launch of the power unit, which is scheduled for December. For the first ever nuclear power plant in Bangladesh, which is located 160 kilometers from the capital, a Russian project with VVER-1200 reactors was chosen. It had been previously successfully implemented at two units of the Novovoronezh Nuclear Power Plant. This is an evolutionary generation III project that fully meets international safety requirements and is capable of addressing the country’s energy deficit for more than 60 years. For the record, new nuclear technologies for reliable energy supply were widely discussed at the REW 2024. @RoscongressDirect #RoscongressInternational #REW2024 Source: Roscongress Direct
