Dear friends, I would like to wish you a very happy, healthy and creative year 2020 ! As many of you asked me to play this piece, I’m really happy to give you my version of the famous Monti Csárdás, with clarinets, percussions and my first chords on a classical guitar 😂 I will need years of practice to reach a decent level but I had lot of fun touching this instrument for the first time ! 😍😅 Csárdás is a traditional Hungarian folk dance, the name derived from csárda (old Hungarian term for roadside tavern and restaurant). The origin of the csárdás can be traced back to the 18th century Hungarian music genre the verbunkos (like in Bartók Contrasts for violin, clarinet and piano 🤓) the 'verbunk' was used as a recruiting dance by the Austrian army. The csárdás is characterized by a variation in tempo: it starts out slowly (lassú) and ends in a very fast tempo (friss, literally “fresh“). I hope you’ll enjoy this fun version and wish you again a very happy new year ! 🎉💃🏻✨
