Mount Wise, Plymouth, Devon. Various shots in control room of the Southern Rescue Co-ordination Centre at Plymouth. Amongst the calls that are coming in is a boat in distress. The rescuers plot the position on a wall map. MS. Exterior of the centre. Various shots, from all angles, showing a small boat out at sea and the rescue helicopter coming in and lowering a rescuer. The rescuer grips the supposed injured man and he is raised up into the helicopter as it moves off. Aerial shots of a rescue launch reaching the small boat and taking it in tow. Various shots of landing the supposed injured woman at the centre and then being put into ambulance to be taken to hospital. Various shots of another urgent call being received at Mount Wise. MS. Notice board 'Royal Air Force, Chivenor'. Various shots of coast guard station built into rocks and they watch out to sea. They see something and go into action.
