Oh, the good old days of practical effects and real stunts. I think I can't find a better example of what I'm talking about than in this futuristic post-apocalyptic movie set into LA, where cyborgs are a normal thing. Except, now the exclusively machine “humans“ are waging war on “normal“ non-augmented people. Or are they? If you like sci fi, cyborgs, or the terminator franchise, you will not be disappointed by this otherwise visibly B-like movie. Yet, there is so much of the practical effects and stunts that could rival the AAA movies of the 90s except maybe of the Terminator 2 a year prior, that had ridiculous budget in comparison, and used revolutionary brand new technologies along with the early competent implementation of the CGI. Don't be fooled, even this one attempted some CGI implementation, but it was laughable in comparison. Considering that this movie never had aspiration (or budged) to be AAA movie (correct me if I'm wrong), this movie as an achievement and a testament to the people involved in the production. Well done guys! Or Am I wrong? What do you guys think? P.S. I know that Selene from the Underworld (2003) must have been a big fan ;)
