No longer helpless infants but not yet fully independent, my orphans have reached the 'into everything' stage of their development. If there's a problem I surely get to hear about it but what a privilege it is to raise such intelligent and utterly adorable orphaned flying-foxes. They will be fully weaned by eleven weeks before embarking on the next stage of their journey to ultimate freedom in the wild. For us as carers, it's a short trip but one filled with love, enlightenment and excitement.
