A new eruption has started on the Reykjanes Peninsula in Iceland Strong volcanic activity resumed today on the peninsula, where there have already been 6 eruptions since 2021. The fissure is 3 km long, with lava jets surging upwards by 50-80 metres. Last December, authorities were forced to evacuate the fishing village of Grindavik, located next to the volcano, because of lava flows. Several houses were destroyed .
