The egg was very small (about 55 µm), with a very conspicuous forcipate mastax (the hard structure in a rotifer’s pharynx). Francisco Pujante (fpelectronica) suggests that this might be Encentrum, and I believe he is right. For comparison, here is an Encentrum trophus: The whole process took about an hour and a half.
