The earthquake psychosis is back in the USA. But this time, it's not about the long-awaited “Big One“ that's supposed to devastate sunny California sooner or later, or the “Really Big One“ that could unleash havoc in the Cascadia any time now... This time, fears are concentrated in a vast area of the central-eastern USA, stretching along the borders of Arkansas, Missouri, Tennessee, and southern Illinois, where intense seismic activity has been recorded for some time, characterized by a long series of small-magnitude tremors. These tremors originate precisely along the so-called “New Madrid seismic zone,“ which in the early 19th century was the site of a series of devastating earthquakes so severe that they even managed to reverse the flow of the Mississippi River for a stretch. Many metropolises are currently located in the at-risk zone: from Memphis to Saint Louis, and the region has been defined as the most threatening fault line among all those east of the Rocky Mountains. What's that? You didn't know anything about it? Well, that doesn't surprise us... The earthquakes of two centuries ago affected regions that were so sparsely populated at the time that they were soon forgotten; their memory, contrary to much more celebrated seismic locations (especially by the film industry), remains only in the hidden chronicles of the time. -- DISCUSSIONS & SOCIAL MEDIA Commercial Purposes: Lorenzovareseaziendale@ Tik Tok: @insanecuriosity Reddit: Instagram: Twitter: Facebook: Linkedin: Our Website: -- Credits: Ron Miller, Mark A.
