But 100 years have passed, and we are still alive and anxiously trying to preserve the dilapidated rich Russian cultural heritage. Even sensing the approach of the end of the existence of nations and the replacement of European civilization with globalism we do not cease to take part in the centuries-old chain that passes on our native traditions. The Mighty five did the same over a century ago. The youngest member of the Mighty Five was Nikolai Andreevich Rimsky-Korsakov (1844-1908). This is a hereditary officer of the Russian navy, director, teacher, organizer and educator, who connected different generations of geniuses of the Russian muse. This is the person thanks to whom the names of Borodin and Mussorgsky became more widely known throughout the world, and also some of their works were completed or received a new arrangement. Nikolai Andreevich is a composer who knows the spirit of military affairs. Impressed by the legend of the late 18th century about the city of Kitezh, the opera The Legend of the Invisible City of Kitezh and the Maiden Fevronia was born. Particularly striking is the third act of this opera, which depicts an unequal battle with hordes of Tatars. Every Russian army officer should know this composition. Nikolai Andreevich was inspired by his native nature and folk culture, connecting generations since ancient times. He loved to immerse himself in the atmosphere of the Old Slavic, Old Russian world. He considered his best creation to be the opera The Snow Maiden, which reflects the traditions of hoary antiquity based on the play of the same name by the great Russian playwright, Alexander Nikolaevich Ostrovsky. In turn, the play “Snow Maiden“ by Ostrovsky was written under the inspiration of the work entitled “Poetic views of the Slavs on nature.“ This is perhaps the main creation of Alexander Nikolaevich Afanasyev (1826-1871). He is a collector of folk poetry, a researcher of the pre-Christian pagan spiritual culture of the Slavs, a historian and literary critic, who made an invaluable contribution to the preservation of ancient folk culture. He was subject to harmful police attention. The reason that the police followed Ostrovsky was his books, which did not correspond to Orthodoxy. To understand Rimsky-Korsakov's attitude, you need to read his notes, in which he wrote: The gravitation towards the ancient Russian custom and pagan pantheism, which was gradually manifesting in me, now flared up in me with a bright flame. There was no better plot for me in the world, there were no better poetic images for me than the Snow Maiden, Lel or Vesna, there was no better kingdom of the Berendei with their wonderful king, there was no better worldview and religion than worship of Yaril-Sun. Although Nikolai Andreevich was not a religious person, before his beloved opera The Snow Maiden, he dedicated a wonderful overture to the church tradition called The Light Holiday [The Easter]. But at the same time, he declared that he was eager to display: both the traditional legendary and pagan aspects of the holiday: the transition from the solemnity and mystery of the evening of Holy Saturday to the unrestrained and in their origins, the pagan celebrations of Easter Sunday morning. “ The Flight of the Bumblebee from the opera The Tale of Tsar Saltan, composed in 1899-1900, received world fame. The fairy tale itself was written in verse by Alexander Sergeevich Pushkin in 1831. The continuity of traditions and culture has come down to us. The episode “Flight of the Bumblebee“ is known all over the world for its incredibly fast performance tempo and abundance of short and ultra-short notes, which led to the extreme popularity of the melody performance...
