Djentysun. Pretty sure this is the first ever cover of this song! :D My first venture into Wintersun! I've been a fan of the band for ages (They're the reason I got into symphonic metal and began adding symphonic elements into my own music), but I haven't made any covers of their stuff before as their songs tend to be kinda difficult (This one was no exception: nailing the timing in the second part of the song is anything but easy! :D). Then about the tuning. The guitars in the original song go down to a D#1. My guitar only goes down to an E2. That's a 13 note difference! :D I couldn't pitch shift the song up by 13 notes without totally destroying the sound quality, so I instead shifted it up by just one note, and then just played everything an octave higher than in the original. Works reasonably well, and sounds decent. I'm pretty sure that there are a couple incorrect notes here and there (In addition to the mistakes I made when playing the song of course), but hearing what is actually happening with the guitars can be a bit difficult when they are playing lower than your standard bass :D Original song: My band: Gear: ESP SV-II (The original frets have been switched to stainless steel frets, the Original Floyd Rose bridge has been switched to a Gotoh GE1996T, and the bridge has been blocked with a tremolo stopper) Jens Bogren Amp Knob BDH 66o6 Jens Bogren IRs Elixir 9-42 strings Jim Dunlop Carbon Fiber Max Grip Jazz III
