i haven't uploaded in two months and now i'm uploading a second speedpaint of axl fanart lmao. But look, I learnt how to make speedpaints! Well, there were some reasons behind this kind of hiatus and I had wasted far too much time drawing this piece so I'm going to upload everything DiVE-related in the next year. But for now, I have this Axl to show to you. I wanted to draw festive Axl since summer (and the original concept for that had Axl becoming a taiko drummer), but I kept pushing that idea until I saw New Year Iris' artwork through datamining. That had literally inspired me to draw this Axl and try to mimic DiVE's artstyle. The original idea had Axl participate in Hanetsuki, but then I realized that Cinnamon already had this role and that this game was traditionally played by girls. Then I decided to give Axl a kendama... but that wasn't 'New Year' enough. In the end, I decided to go with mochi-making and I think I made a right decision. I really like how this had turned out! And yes, that's a barrel modeled after Tornado Debonion (because he was the closest thing to a daidai (bitter orange)) and that mochi hammer is also a bazooka modeled after Vanishing Gungaroon. I just thought those references would make the concept stand out more.
