Rod Deon has been wood carving for 85 years. He was born in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia in 1921. Rod specializes in wildlife wood carvings and Bull Moose in particular. In 1947, he carved a large bull Moose, that was chosen and featured on a Canadian postage stamp in 2003. The carving featured in this movie is called 'Bull Moose in the Snow'. Rod uses DuraGrit carbide rotary tools along with other traditional gouges, to create finely detailed and naturally proportioned sculptures. This carving took 40 hour
