Well, that shouldn't have been my new video. I recently finished a wonderful Arabian-themed Multi Women of Color collab with my friends Kitty and Maria, but I happened to be unlucky since the video was deemed too sensual for Youtube (when there are so many worse on the site and there was no obvious nudity), so I unfortunately received a strike. We retouched the video since then and it looks okay on my friends' channels, but as a precaution, I won't try to publish it before my strike has disappeared, around the beginning of September. That said, I intend to try again to put the edited version on my channel, because I am very, very proud of this collab. In the meantime, I invite you to go and discover it on one of Kitty or Maria's channels, or of course on my Vimeo channel, where I also put it in the meantime : And so, here I am again with a new video on RE! A video that I've had the idea for a long time now, but I was waiting for RE8 to make it and I don't regret it because RE8 is such a AMAZING GAME god , with FINALLY a handsome Chris who looks like what he's supposed to look like, not like in RE7. This video is supposed to focus primarily on Chris' trauma over the death of his men/partners. Admittedly, we don't know what Chris's mental state really is about it so far, even though we got a big glimpse of it in RE6 (and it's not great), but I really think, for my part, that Chris to develop over the years a trauma due to his partners/team that he failed to save. It's more or less canon in RE6, but it's in the long run for me and that would also explain, in my headcanon, why Chris is no longer teaming up with Jill. Simply for fear of losing her again, because of him. Sigh, we are forced to find logical explanations for the completely illogical fact that they ended up separating this team which was inseparable. But when you look at everything that happened to Chris over the course of the games, it makes sense. In RE1, he loses almost all of the Alpha and the Bravo team, of course, he was young, he was not yet the captain and therefore not responsible for these people, but it must still mark. Not to mention the betrayal/“death“ of Wesker because in truth, Wesker formed this team himself, which means that he trained Chris and Jill, hence the link between him and them, it's easy to imagine that in the past, Chris respected, even admired his captain. In RE2 and RE3, his sister Claire and Jill both experienced the horror of Raccoon City when he was not there for them. In Code Veronica, Wesker uses Claire against Chris and she disappears, not to mention that she was captured because she was looking for him. The first man he meets on the island when he arrives is a man who helped his sister, and Chris cannot save him and he dies in his arms. In RE Revelations, he spends half the game dreading Jill's death, and he witnesses Jill's partner dying later in the game as they fail to save him (at least they think so, but we know that in the end, Parker survives his fall into the flames) and his own partner betrays them all. In RE5, he spent three years believing that Jill was dead after sacrificing herself to save him. The real trauma started there for me, even though I pointed out the events of the past because they are also important. He almost lose his second partner again to Wesker, Sheva, and all the men who were with them at the start also die. In RE6, well, he loses his whole team, but this time it's worse, since for the first time he was captain and they were under his responsibility, and he finally does a mental breakdown and loses his memory. At the end of the game, he also loses his new partner, Piers, who dies to save him, as Jill once did. In RE7, he once again loses his almost entire team to Lucas Baker. And in RE8, he doesn't succeed to save all of the Winters, even though he had promised them to protect them, he finally manages to save Mia and maybe Rose (it's more Ethan who saved Rose though), but in the end Ethan is forced to sacrifice himself to save them all. With all of this, it's a miracle that he's still able to face all of these shit at his age, honestly. I love my boy. Hope you will enjoy that little edit so, I'm kinda happy of how it turned :) Fandom - Characters : Chris Redfield, Resident Evil (plus Jill Valentine because there's no Chris Redfield without Jill Valentine).
