Philosophical Practice at South Ural State University

This is the Department of Philosophy, South Ural State University. We are almost in the middle, metaphorically speaking in the heart of Russia. Hi! My name is Regina Penner. And I am the associate professor here. We live in and work at very interesting place. South Ural is a multinational region. Russians, Tatars, Bashkirs, Germans, Kazakhs and other people created a unique multicultural space. Moreover, around thousand of students from China, Iran, India, and Africa are studying in our university. They speak not just Russian, but also English, Arabic, Chinese and many other languages. The main question for us is how to teach people with different backgrounds and even different languages. That is why me and my colleagues from the Department started to implement the methods and formats of philosophical practice in real educational process.
